IKEA Time Controller Switch

I used to get “theben” time controller switch to control my aquarium lighting and CO2 solenoid. Now, as I had setup another aquarium for my son. I decided to go for a cheaper timer switch as “theben” price had gone up quite a bit. No doubt “theben” is a great time controller switch.
After some search, I still find many of the time controller switch is either too expensive or poorer quality. One fine Sunday afternoon, managed to find one suitable and cheap one at IKEA. The made is solid and it is not bulky. But one limitation is that it could only set time control segments to half an hour intervals as compare to “theben” of 15 minutes segments intervals. But, for my application; half an hour segments is enough. For that price of S$9.90 for two; what could I ask for more? “theben ” is S$20 per piece.
When reached home, my son immediately test it on his aquarium light and it works perfectly. The other piece had a little clicking noise during operation but I think it is still OK. We could not hear it at a distance. All in all, this is a value for money Time controller switch which you could consider getting if you are on a tight budget. The quality already pretty good. But, for even better quality, go for “theben”. I had been using it for many years and still running fine so far. Cheers!
