All New Mazda6 in Singapore
Feb 2nd, 2008 by AnA
The All New Mazda6 will be officially launch by Mazda Motor (Singapore) on the 02 Feb 2008. That means today!!!
I really looking forward to take a close view of this new car since many months ago. Below are my experience with the car during the road show. Cheers!
One of the road show was at Clarke Quay. I was there on Saturday. Reached there in the evening and there were 3 cars on display. It was not very crowded and thus I could take many pictures of the cars.
The car looks impressive. But my first impression of the car was… if you are already Mazda’s owner of Mazda3; you may not feel so excited on getting the new Mazda6 immediately. The ‘overall feel’ is similar. Thus, you could actually wait a while. For those never own Mazda’s car before. Guess this car should get you very excited.
For my case, I even thought of wait till the launching of new 2009′s Mazda3 next year and then decide if it is worth to get the older design (current model). If I still find current one appealing; I will consider getting it. Guess by then, this current model Mazda3′s price should be at it best.
Some pictures of the All New Mazda6 at the road show …
Lighted mirror and sunglasses holder …
Built-in audio systems …
The rear seat …
The dials and display …
The head’s and tail’s light … very nicely designed.
The wipers are hidden from the driver … the wiper spray are not on the bonnet and thus prevent water stain from the spray.

Engine’s compartment …
Open the boot with a button …
Head Lights when on …
So, how is the test drive?
I did a test drive with the 2.5L model and the pick up is smooth and quiet. The handling is good as usual for Mazda’s car. The steering is lighter than any Mazda’s car to date.
The back seat passenger will feel a little bumpy. The car I have tested had a 18 inches rim and thus maybe the cause of the bumpy feel. Sound proofing is pretty OK. All in all, it is a nice car to drive.
My like and dislike items for the New Mazda6 …
Like
1. Come with lighted mirrors and sun glasses holder.
2. Hidden wiper and wiper spray nozzle.
3. Two tone dials.
4. Press button at the rear to open the boot.
5. More than one air bag.
6. Good rubber material dashboard on the passenger’s side.
7. Built-in antenna inside the rear wind screen.
Dislike
1. Hand brake not on the driver’s side.
2. Fuel refilled inlet not on the driver’s side.
3. Gear shift pedal at the steering very ‘plastic feel’.
4. Manual supporting rod for the bonnet. (also the orientation seem to be designed more for left hand-er)
5. No rear air-con duct.
6. Plastic material for the dashboard on the driver’s side.
7. Boot space not big enough for it class. (some space taken up by the bigger ‘wheel arc’ housing)
