Fanco Aroma ceiling fan

As one of my floor fan is giving way, I decided to get my sons a ceiling fan. After some search on a Sunday afternoon, I manage to get a decent Fanco Aroma ceiling fan. It is 54″ from tip of the blades to blade. It comes in 3 colours; the brown, silver and white. After some discussion with my sons, we decided on brown.
I am glad I decided to get the brown one. It seem to match the bedroom better. I have brown flooring. As for the white one, it may look good in the beginning when new. But after sometime, it will get dirty easily.
Now, the only problem is the fan does come with only 3 hours timer remote control. Normally, we need more hours. The remote which comes with the fan is a simple one as compare to those standing fan. Just 3 speed control and an on/off button for the fan and lighting. However, we could actually get those better remote online. It costs a bit more but much better than stock. I have came across some good remote which comes with Home-Safe feature controls lights in an irregular sequence, making the home appear occupied. Maybe a good idea for landed home.
As for the wattage, it stated on the fan itself and it is 75w. It does not stated in the manual. In general, ceiling needs higher power as compare to floor fan. It needs greater power to drive the longer and more blades. Normal floor fan should be about 40 to 45 watts.
During the installation, some square counter weights were used to balance the fan. These weights were glued on the blades to balance the whole fan. Just like balancing on the rim of the car when installing the tires. This balancing is not necessary for normal standing fan as the blades are shorter and thus more balance. This Fanco Fan’s blades are longer and made of wood and thus the weight could be not equal and so balance is needed.
Again, as it comes with remote, the ceiling fan main switch should be turn off when not in use. It will consume electric power when on standby. Something to take note. Last year this fan is cheaper to get. Now the installation cost when up from S$30 to S$40. The fan cost also went up. I paid S$310 include
installation. Someone seem to got it cheaper last year at about S$290. Anyway, it still worth every dollar as it is a good fan. My sons are enjoying right now while I am writing this article. Cheers!
