Open Heart Mechanical Watch
Apr 11th, 2008 by AnA
After I had inspired by my very first mechanical watch which I had purchased a few weeks ago, I got myself another Open Heart Mechanical Watch. The design is different but it has the same concept; the “Open Heart” concept. Ok, beside some minor faults I had mentioned below; it is considered a pretty good watch in my opinion. It keeps time well. With my primitive method of measurement; it stays within +10 seconds precision per day. Good enough for a mechanical watch of that price range.
The front…
The reserve power indication is very useful as it does indicate the correct power. The details of the dial surface is amazing, just like those from the Alpha’s….it makes the watch looks and feel more worth than it price. The hour, minute and second hands are blue in colour and a close up will show some uneven spray of the blue paint. Most of the wordings on the dial are well printed except 2 at 15x range…generally still looks good from naked eyes. Also, noticed some initial sign of corrosion started from the “Tourbillon” area. Not obvious but could be seen using 10x magnification.
The back…
It has a displayed back. It shows the rotor but does not show much of the moving gears. It has a smoother rotor than my IK colouring’s watch.
The strap…
It it brown in colour but it does not seem soft. I expect good leather to be softer? My friend told me good leather is not very soft, please enlighten.
The crown…
This watch could be hand wound. But, the grip is not very good for me and it tends to slip while winding.
The comments above may not be accurate as I have limited knowledge on watches since I just pick up the interest about 2 weeks ago. Hope I have given correct and useful information. Cheers!
